Who We Are
The Paterson Performance Arts Development Council (PPADC) was established with the goal of developing a Paterson Performance Arts Center (PPAC) to serve as an all-inclusive permanent physical space for culturally diverse theater groups, students, producers, and independent artists (playwrights, musicians, dancers, poets, etc.) from within and outside of the City of Paterson.
PPADC strives to create a more inclusive performing arts scene for all artists and disciplines by eliminating barriers to participation related to age, race, gender, income, sexual-orientation, identity, disability, nationality, and/or religion.
Additionally, PPADC serves as a pipeline for the career development and talent promotion of emerging artists.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bring together multicultural communities through performing arts and cultural events, to establish pathways for new and established independent artists, and to promote Paterson as a regional hub for the creative arts.
Our Core Values
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion — The arts bring diverse people and cultures together. We exhibit and encourage diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Confident Leadership — We believe the arts need confident leadership and that if we are doing our job, we will know the needs and wants of our constituents and can act confidently on their behalf.
Visionary — We see possibilities and a future beyond what is evident today by enriching young lives today through powerful performing arts experiences.
Community-centric Regionalism — We work toward objectives that enhance the sense of community for all in our region and the communities within it.
Our Vision
Our vision is to draw on the performance arts as one of the drivers of economic growth—local and tourism spend—and to redefine Paterson as a destination city for avid patrons of the arts
